Data Architect

Te āheinga - The opportunity:

​

The Data Architect, reporting to the Business Operations Manager, will lead the project management of building and implementing our data systems and processes to meet organisational needs. This role includes conducting a gap analysis, providing recommendations, and overseeing the implementation of the proposed model ready to hand over to the data analyst. 

​

This is a contract role for the duration of the project

​

Ngā Kawenga me ngā Mahi – Duties & responsibilities:

​

• Lead the design and project management of data models and algorithms that extract valuable insights

• Collaborate with our team to rigorously assess the performance and limitations of existing database systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies to drive impactful data-driven solutions 

• Implement advanced data visualisation tools to effectively convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders with clarity and confidence 

• Proactively monitor and optimise database performance, swiftly troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain seamless operations 

• Establish robust protocols for data security, backup, and recovery ensuring the protection and privacy of critical information

Ngā wheako me ngā pūkenga - Experience & Skills required:

​

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 

• Proven experience in database design, development, and management 

• Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL 

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of Te Whakatōhea me ona tikanga would be highly regarded
