Whakatōhea welcome the recent High Court Decision acknowledging Whakatōhea tikanga is not a matter for the High Court to determine.

The Court affirmed our tikanga is for us alone to determine and recognise that it would be inappropriate to interfere when we have our own established systems and protocols.

With these applications now dismissed, Whakatōhea can focus on coming together to develop our strategic priorities and build a bright, prosperous future for all uri.
